Zodia Custody, a digital asset custody company founded by Standard Chartered Bank, announced that National Australia Bank has become an investor through NAB Ventures. Northern Trust is reportedly a minority investor, and Japan's SBI Holdings subsequently led a $36 million round of financing, bringing the total financing to $68 million.
Last year, Zodia Custody announced that it had opened an office in Australia and planned to serve local institutional clients. About 26% of consumers have digital asset investments. At the time, Zodia Custody signed asset management company DigitalX as its first Australian customer, and NAB was conducting a proof of concept.
