Bitcoin miner Compute North paid $3 million and bonuses to executives on Sept. 22, the day it declared bankruptcy, CoinDesk reported. The company paid co-founder and former CEO Dave Perrill $613,000 in salary and bonuses, documents show. Former chief financial officer Tad Piper received $541,000 three months after leaving the company, president Edward Drake Harvey III and chief commercial officer Kyle Wenzel each received about $500,000, former chief technology officer Nelu Mihai received $340,000, chief legal officer Jason Stokes got $325,000, and new chief financial officer Harold Coulby got about $250,000. The filing also reveals that Compute North does business with a series of companies at least partially owned by Perrier, which have received about $350,000 in payments for leased office space and services over the past year.
