US Judge Lewis Kaplan sentenced SBF's ex-girlfriend, former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison, to two years in federal prison.
Ellison will begin serving her sentence in early November and will be sent to a minimum-security prison. The judge granted Ellison's request to serve her sentence in a Boston prison close to her family.
She must also participate in a restitution process to return all funds recovered from the fraud to victims of FTX's collapse. Ellison invested the vast majority of her savings in FTX, made no effort to recover any of the funds, and gave up her largest holding, a $10 million investment in artificial intelligence giant Anthropic.
