A Ukrainian man reported to the police that he was forced to transfer more than 8 million baht worth of cryptocurrency to a group of armed men while visiting his friend's room in Phuket. The man said he was hijacked after entering his friend's room, and after completing the transfer of 250,000 USDT, the robbers tied him to the bed and warned him not to report the case, then packed up and left the scene. The victim said he eventually managed to save himself and immediately rode a motorcycle to Phuket Airport, but did not see one of the suspects. He then reported the case to the police station.
