Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, has long been a strong critic of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, calling them "worthless," "fraudulent," and "meaningless."
But now he has changed his usual stance, saying his views may waver and "I will keep an open mind."
Despite such promises, Kashkari continues to question the significance of cryptocurrencies. He said the industry has been around for a long time but has not been widely adopted, showing a lack of practicality, "Except as a speculative asset, what role does it actually play in the real economy? It's been more than a decade." (Note: The Bitcoin white paper came out 16 years ago) (CoinDesk)
