RippleX developers are now pushing for new upgrades to the XRP Ledger (XRPL), including an increase in transaction fees for drops. The fee is currently fixed at 10 drops, and the team plans to increase it to 200 drops, an increment that will reduce fees.
Once the new proposal is passed and implemented on the chain, validators will be encouraged to avoid hard coding. As the fee level is adjusted, this may increase the number of failed transactions. In addition, validators are recommended to use the SDK to automatically fill in the fee field. Although the core trade-offs of the proposed fee increase are not stated, validators appear to be on the receiving end of the plan. RippleX developers pointed out that this process strengthens the decentralization capabilities on XRPL. (CoinGape)
