Spacecoin XYZ has launched its first satellite into orbit, marking the project’s first step toward bringing a constellation of satellites online that will allow blockchain networks to be protected in outer space.
Spacecoin XYZ co-founder Daniel Bar said in an interview that the first officially standardized satellite is the first major milestone in bringing the “Spacecoin layer” into Earth orbit. The satellite, part of a SpaceX Falcon Heavy, lifted off at 3:34 a.m. local time in California on December 21.
Bar said the Spacecoin satellite will be the first of many to be launched in the coming months. Spacecoin plans to launch a “constellation” of seven to 10 additional satellites in 2025, which should be enough to get the Spacecoin mainnet online. (Cointelegraph)
