Bitcoin mining company HIVE Digital is moving its headquarters from Vancouver, Canada to San Antonio, Texas, due to favorable regulatory conditions for Bitcoin mining and access to stronger capital markets in the United States.
The company announced on Tuesday that it has signed a lease agreement for office space in San Antonio, marking a major step in establishing its US headquarters. HIVE highlighted Texas' business-friendly environment, skilled workforce and advanced energy infrastructure as key factors in its decision. In addition, the company also pointed to President-elect Trump's pro-Bitcoin stance as a complementary advantage to its operations.
As part of its US expansion, HIVE will transition to reporting its financial results under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) starting at the end of its fiscal year in March 2025.
While HIVE's headquarters will be relocated, the company's CFO and CEO will remain in Canada to ensure continuity of operations. The company also plans to hire an internal auditor in San Antonio to support its US regulatory obligations.
