The Web3 Working Group of the Digital Society Promotion Headquarters of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan held its second study session and is currently discussing the revision of regulations on crypto assets (virtual currencies).
The meeting discussed the differences in regulatory treatment between cryptocurrencies and traditional securities, as well as the direction of future legal reforms. There is an opinion that disclosure regulations, entry regulations, and behavioral regulations should be considered not only from the perspective of investor protection, but also from the perspective of consistency with overseas regulations and the smooth conduct of transactions.
In addition, it was pointed out that the characteristics of cryptocurrencies should be carefully considered without being bound by the existing regulatory framework. (Coinpost)
