Odaily Planet Daily News Next Monday's Eurogroup meeting will discuss tokenization, distributed ledger (DLT) technology and central bank funds for wholesale settlements, as well as the status of the retail digital euro. The Eurogroup is an informal body of economic and finance ministers that meets to discuss issues related to the euro.
Hyun Song Shin, economic adviser and head of the Monetary and Economic Department of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), will participate in the discussion. He is involved in the Agorá project, which aims to combine tokenization and wholesale CBDC to speed up cross-border payments using agency banks, involving 41 institutions and 7 central banks, including the Bank of France as a representative of the European Union.
