According to CoinDesk, the Cardano development team Input Output Global (IOG) funded the University of Edinburgh with $4.5 million to establish a blockchain research center. It will also help facilitate the development of Haskell, the purely mathematical computing language that underpins Cardano. Previously, IOG established a blockchain technology laboratory within the University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics, IOG funded and launched a blockchain research center at Stanford University in August and IOG CEO Charles Hoskinson donated $20 million in Carnegie, Pennsylvania Camelon University establishes the Hoskinson Center for Formal Mathematics.
