Cboe BZX Proposes Rule Change For Ethereum Spot ETF Options

According to Odaily, the Cboe BZX Exchange has proposed a rule amendment, Rule 19.3, to allow the exchange to introduce options trading for Ethereum spot ETFs. This proposal is a competitive filing based on a similar proposal submitted by the New York Stock Exchange's American division, which is currently awaiting approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The document specifically mentions the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, Grayscale Ethereum Trust, Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust, and any trusts holding Ether. Cboe BZX stated that offering Ethereum fund options would benefit investors by providing additional, relatively low-cost investment tools for exposure to spot Ether and a hedging tool to meet their investment needs in Ether products and positions.
