A British cryptocurrency broker jumped to his death after being kidnapped in Spain, and three kidnappers were arrested

The broker was tricked by the kidnappers to drink in an apartment in the nearby town of Estepona. After arriving, he was told to hand over $30,917 (30,000 euros) from the client's account, otherwise he would be tortured or killed. The victim managed to call a friend in London for help, pretending that he was calling a client to get an access code. His friend then called the victim's mother, who called the police. Local authorities were able to track down the apartment, and when the kidnappers were distracted by the police, the broker jumped from the 30-foot balcony and broke his ankle. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. A subsequent search of the apartment found two guns, 10,000 euros (10,305 US dollars), a money counting machine, three knives and 25 grams of pink cocaine. All three men were arrested and charged with kidnapping, wounding, participating in a criminal organization, illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking. After appearing in court, they were jailed.
