Kenyan legislators are currently advancing a law allowing taxation of cryptocurrencies, the Capital Markets (Amendment) Bill 2022, aimed at taxing cryptocurrency exchanges and digital wallets, according to the Kenyan media Business Daily. If the bill is approved, cryptocurrency investors in the country will have to pay capital gains tax to the Kenya Revenue Authority when they sell or use cryptocurrencies in transactions. the laws relating to income tax, or for more than twelve months, the laws relating to capital gains tax shall apply".
