Lazard chief market strategist: Fed not expected to cut interest rates until 2025

Odaily Planet Daily News: Lazard chief market strategist Temple said that due to inflation risks, Lazard still expects the Federal Reserve not to cut interest rates in 2025. He said Lazard's view differed significantly from market consensus, which sees three rate cuts likely this year. “My view diverges from the consensus because I expect U.S. tariffs to expand in scope and size, pushing up inflation, by 2025,” Temple said. A reacceleration of inflation wouldn’t necessarily lead to a rate hike, but rising price pressures could keep the Fed from easing policy if unemployment rises, he said. (Golden Ten)
