Odaily Planet Daily News Fairshake, a super political action committee (PAC) representing the crypto industry, recently invested more than $1.5 million in advertising support funds for Republican candidates in two special elections for the U.S. House of Representatives in Florida. These two seats are key to the Republican Party maintaining a slim majority in the House of Representatives.
Among them, Fairshake invested about $1.2 million in state senator Randy Fine, who ran for the vacant seat of former National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and about $345,000 in state treasurer Jimmy Patronis, who ran for the vacant seat of Matt Gaetz. Both are considered candidates who support crypto assets.
The by-election will be held on April 1, and early voting will begin this weekend. The Democratic Party is also actively investing, but the relevant constituencies have mostly been Republican-dominated areas in past elections. (CoinDesk)
