Odaily Planet Daily News Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal published a post on the X platform revealing that he attended the Senate Banking Committee's nomination hearing for Paul Atkins as SEC Chairman and shared the key points of the meeting:
Atkins promised that the SEC will operate in a transparent manner and listen to the opinions of the industry and consumers, which is in sharp contrast to the past;
Atkins emphasized that digital assets are the focus of this year, and clear regulatory rules will promote innovation in the United States, open up new markets for investors, and enhance the United States' leadership in the global technology field.
Atkins and Jonathan Gould, a candidate for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), jointly stated that they will be committed to ending the "de-banking" phenomenon and pushing the SEC to return to "basic principles."
Grewal said that Atkins' leadership will bring new prospects to the SEC, and he looks forward to the Senate Committee and the entire Senate confirming his nomination as soon as possible.
