Odaily Planet Daily News White House officials confirmed that US President Trump pardoned Arthur Hayes, former CEO of the crypto exchange BitMEX, and his co-founders Samuel Reed and Benjamin Delo. The pardon was signed on Thursday. In 2020, the US Department of Justice accused BitMEX and four related personnel of violating the Bank Secrecy Act because they allowed anonymous transactions and failed to implement KYC requirements. Hayes and others pleaded guilty and were sentenced to probation and fines respectively. The exchange also pleaded guilty last year.
