According to PANews, Meta Platforms is reportedly laying off over 100 employees from its Reality Labs division, which focuses on virtual reality and wearable technology. Sources indicate that the latest round of layoffs affects employees involved in creating VR experiences for Meta's Quest headset and those in hardware operations. The leadership at Meta aims to streamline similar tasks being performed by two separate teams within Reality Labs. While the company has confirmed the layoffs, it has not disclosed the exact number of affected employees. Meta spokesperson Tracy Clayton stated in an email that some teams within Oculus Studios are undergoing structural and role changes, impacting team sizes.
