Hong Kong Establishes Committee to Enhance Anti-Money Laundering Standards

According to PANews, the Hong Kong Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Professional Committee (DAAMC) has been established with the support of the Hong Kong Virtual Asset Industry Association. This non-profit organization includes participation from entities such as SlowMist and RoundCoin. DAAMC aims to enhance collaboration among regulated financial institutions to develop and promote anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT) standards and practices. The committee will align its efforts with the guidelines issued by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) concerning AML/CFT measures applicable to licensed stablecoin issuers. Additionally, DAAMC plans to explore and research emerging global compliance standards related to on-chain identity verification and other relevant areas.
