Coinbase Launches x402 Bazaar, an AI-Powered "Search Engine" Platform for Service Discovery and Payments

US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has launched x402 Bazaar, the first discovery layer for AI agents, described as an agent-based "search engine." The platform provides a unified entry point for autonomous AI agents, enabling them to automatically discover, interact with, and pay for new services, enabling them to evolve. Previously, AI agents were limited in their capabilities by developer pre-sets, making expansion slow. x402 Bazaar overcomes this bottleneck, enabling agents to automatically access financial data, access image and video generation tools, and even book performances and manage business processes. Coinbase claims this will promote the widespread adoption of "self-improving AI agents" and potentially lead to the emergence of self-sustaining AI businesses. x402 Bazaar is built on the x402 protocol, an open payment protocol developed by Coinbase. It supports instant stablecoin payments over HTTP, eliminating account and subscription processes and enabling AI agents to autonomously discover and pay for services in their respective application scenarios.
