Gate officially launches Gate Layer, optimizing the GT token economy and accelerating ecosystem infrastructure upgrades

Crypto asset trading platform Gate announced the official launch of its new second-layer network, Gate Layer, and the simultaneous optimization of the token economy for its platform token, GT. Gate Layer is a high-performance second-layer network built on the industry-leading OP Stack, fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). GateChain serves as the mainchain settlement layer for security, while a GT staking mechanism enhances network stability. In terms of performance, Gate Layer supports over 5,700 transactions per second, with a block generation time of just 1 second, and transaction fees significantly lower than most existing second-layer networks. Cross-chain interoperability is achieved through LayerZero. In terms of ecosystem development, Gate Layer leverages a high-performance Layer 2 network as its foundational infrastructure, anchored by its "All in Web 3" strategy. It has launched three core tools: Perp, Gate Fun, and Meme Go, precisely addressing users' full-scenario needs, from asset issuance and trading to value creation. GT will serve as the sole gas token on Gate Layer, expanding its application scenarios while maintaining a dual deflationary mechanism of "periodic destruction + on-chain burning." The cumulative destruction rate has reached 60.18%. Meanwhile, GateChain has been upgraded to v1.20, further enhancing scalability and security.
