The Metis ecosystem has released a significant governance proposal, announcing that its core network layers—the settlement layer Andromeda, the high-performance computing layer Hyperion, the AI application layer LazAI, the zero-knowledge proof layer ZKM, and the Bitcoin L2 exploration layer GOAT—will be developed as a unified whole. Three core optimizations to the token economic model will also be introduced: 1. Enhancing METIS Practical Use Cases: Establishing METIS as the native gas token for the LazAI network. All AI inference, data operations, and on-chain computations will consume METIS, building a demand foundation driven by real-world use. The newly established Ecosystem Growth Reserve (EAGR) will provide initial gas liquidity support. 2. Optimizing the Issuance Mechanism and Sustainability: Reducing the decentralized sequencer (DSeq) mining reward rate from 20% to 15%, while maintaining industry competitiveness and increasing economic sustainability by 25%. This adjustment is based on the mature operation of the sequencer network, and the released resources will be used for broader ecosystem development. 3. Establish an Ecosystem Growth Reserve Fund: A portion of mining rewards will be redistributed to establish the Ecosystem Alignment and Growth Reserve (EAGR), representing 20% of the total METIS supply. This reserve will be specifically used for validator expansion, liquidity support, and cross-layer ecosystem development. All fund usage will require whitelisting and governance review. The overall token supply cap remains unchanged, and tokens in the EAGR will be gradually released into circulation based on actual use case needs. The proposal is expected to be implemented in phases within four weeks of community approval, including a smooth parameter transition and the launch of the reserve mechanism. This optimization aims to build a more sustainable ecosystem by enhancing usability and adjusting the allocation mechanism without increasing token issuance or causing inflation. The governance vote will begin at 1:00 AM (Beijing time) on October 30th on the Snapshot platform and end on November 3rd. Metis invites global community members to participate in this ecosystem evolution; specific participation methods will be announced soon. The advancement of this proposal will further enhance the practical value of METIS in diverse application scenarios.
