Neuberger Berman CIO Predicts Lower Interest Rates to Boost U.S. Economy

According to ChainCatcher, Shannon Saccoci, Chief Investment Officer of Neuberger Berman's wealth management division, expressed in a recent memo that regardless of whether the Federal Reserve decides to cut interest rates this week, rates are expected to decline eventually. This anticipated decrease is likely to accelerate the U.S. economy and create opportunities for risk assets to rise. Saccoci highlighted that although there is significant uncertainty surrounding the potential 25 basis point rate cut by the Federal Reserve on December 10, the overall tendency towards a more accommodative policy is constructive for the U.S. economy and risk markets. She emphasized that despite the risks associated with the timing and magnitude of rate cuts, the ultimate goal remains unchanged: a lower and more accommodative federal funds rate by the second half of next year.
