Welcome to Arbitrum folks! In case you are not aware of what Arbitrum is, it is an Optimistic Rollup that operates as a Layer 2 (L2) solution for Ethereum (ETH), aiming to bring scalability and affordable transactions for ETH network users.
As this guide focus only on hands-on, if you are interested to know more about the above jargons, feel free to check out https://ethereum.org/en/layer-2/ for more information.
To advocate users in the crypto space, especially ETH users, Arbitrum launched an 8-weeks rewards program to encourage users to try out L2 blockchain. The first week is called 'Bridging Week', whereby users will be eligible to claim one NFT after completing bridging their ETH to Arbitrum. If fulfil another criteria (using the most used bridge which is Hop), users may get one bonus NFT.
In this guide, I will show you the easiest (but might not be the cheapest) way to complete both basic and bonus tasks in one go. Believe me, it is not hard and probably take less than 10 minutes! By the way, the campaign is ending in less than 12 hours (27 June 2022, 11.59PM), you have to start working ASAP after reading this guide.
1. Visit campaign page at https://galaxy.eco/arbitrum/campaign/GCCNzUtQiW
2. Connect your wallet. Metamask wallet is used in this guide.
3. Visit https://hop.exchange/ and click ‘Use Hop’.
4. Connect your wallet.
5. Transfer ETH from ‘Mainnet’ to ‘Arbitrum’. Remember not to click on ‘Max’ as you need to leave a little bit for transaction fee (gas).
To optimize transaction fee, you may do this task when gas fee is low. Check gas fee here at https://etherscan.io/gastracker
6. Click ‘Send’ and wait for the transaction go through. Remember to stay on Mainnet during this process.
7. Visit https://chainlist.org/ and add ‘Arbitrum One’ network to your Metamask.
8. Once the transaction went through, you may switch your Metamask network to ‘Arbitrum One’.
9. Wait until your ETH arrived.
10. Back to the campaign page in step 1, the ‘HOP Mainnet Bridger’ shall light up and you may claim the Arbitrum NFT from 28 June 2022 onwards.
P/S: Each wallet is only limited to claim 1 NFT. If you wish to claim more, you may repeat the steps above using another wallet. Besides, it is recommendable to keep the ETH in Arbitrum network for upcoming mission.
