The largest round of financing this week
World (excluding Worldcoin) completed a financing round participated by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z crypto), Bain Capital Crypto, Selini Capital, Mirana Ventures and Arctic Digital, raising $135 million.
World is a decentralized identity and financial network designed to meet the challenge of "human uniqueness verification" in the AI era. At its core is the World ID - a privacy-protected digital passport that allows users to prove that they are human without revealing personal information.
The verification method is achieved through a biometric device called Orb, which generates a unique identifier by scanning the user's iris to ensure that each person can only be verified once.
World App is the main operating interface of the system, where users can manage World IDs, conduct transactions and access various services. The entire network runs on the World Chain blockchain, which is built for "people-centric" applications, and uses the WLD token for transactions and governance.
