Carlossy the memecoin has hit town. Will it be the UK’s greatest memecoin? Or will it be forgotten in the heap of hopeful shitcoins that just use up bytes on the interwebs?
In the UK, Colin the Caterpillar cake, made by Marks and Spencer (M&S) has been a massive hit for years. If you have been to a kid’s birthday party anywhere in the UK or Ireland, you would have had one of these cakes. They are a choccie sponge covered in hard chocolate. They are so good that there is always that one kid who eats it until they throw up.
Colin the caterpillar cake is one of the bestselling supermarket birthday cakes ever. That is, until Aldi came along with a long-lost cousin of Colin – called Cuthbert.
M&S decided that Cuthbert was too similar to Colin. So they lodged an intellectual property claim with the high court last year. The supermarket giant has three trademarks relating to the Colin Caterpillar cake. M&S said that Aldi needed to kill off Cuthbert promptly, thanks.
M&S have a lot at stake with the claim. 15 million Colin sponges have been sold over the years, and although Aldi want a slice of that cake, they didn’t win this one. In the end, Aldi agreed to change Cuthbert so as to avoid upsetting Colin.
Aldi and M&S have shaken hands over the deal, and the feud has finally been subdued.
To mark the feud, a team of developers decided to create an innovative memecoin to honour the cake of everyone’s childhood.
Carlossy Caterpillar
Enter Carlossy Caterpillar (CARL). It is a new memecoin for those who love caterpillar cakes. The creators hope that the token will follow in the footsteps of Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB). Dogecoin was the entry point for many new users into crypto. Elon Musk even became an enthusiast for DOGE, accepting it as payment for some products in his companies.
Hoping to be like DOGE, CARL is aimed at those who followed the cake dispute. CARL is being marketed as an easy-to-understand and easy-to-use crypto. The company say that people holding the token will get an introduction to the broader crypto world.
CARL will be purchasable across a range of decentralized exchanges this month, before launching across other centralized exchanges. The total supply of the Carlossy Caterpillar token is 1 billion.
The company say that they will be “leveraging the attention people give to memes and making use of it to build up the blockchain ecosystem.”
Carlossy Caterpillar will run on the Binance Smart Chain. The coins will be used to purchase, stake, and also trade.
The question is, will be become a great memecoin? Or slide into the world of the shitcoin? I guess we all just watch this space.
