CoinW, a global cryptocurrency exchange, has partnered with the Hong Kong non-profit organisation, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA HK), to host a charity event during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The event saw representatives from CoinW across the globe and leaders from SPCA HK in attendance, along with several partners.
This including Tak Lam, co-founder of MMPass, a Web3 ticket and membership system project, MVC project representatives Jason K, Rachel T, Ricardo H, and Aurora D, co-founder of Impactopia.
Caring For Stray Animals
CoinW took the opportunity to introduce the slogan "Caring for stray animals, treating them as family".
They also introduced a social impact initiative promoting "adoption over purchase."
The event included contributions of dog food and financial donations to support SPCA's charity mooncake event.
Warm, Stable Homes
CoinW hopes that the event will encourage Web3 partners to engage in more charitable events for stray animals.
Web3 partners are encouraged to focus on charitable events, providing comfortable living conditions and medical care for stray cats and dogs, helping them find warm and stable homes, and fostering a safer and sustainable community environment in Hong Kong.
The event was planned by Impactopia, a global charity impact platform, and received support from various Web3 communities and industry media.
Additionally, local Web3 communities, such as the Hong Kong Blockchain Association (HKBA) and industry media also supported the event
Charity Global Tour
CoinW will also organise a global forum for stray animals in October.
During the forum, global organisations and individuals dedicated to animal welfare will gather together to discuss the challenges and solutions faced by animal NGOs.
The forum will also introduce a blockchain-based, traceable "Global Animal Welfare Impact Badge" for participants.
The Hong Kong stray cats and dogs charity event marks another stop of CoinW's Charity Global Tour.
Since 2022, CoinW's charitable activities have been expanding around the globe, covering regions such as Beijing, Shanghai, Turkey, Malaysia, India, and Taiwan.
CoinW has donated over $10,000 worth of supplies to stray animals in these regions through rescue organisations.
