Lacoste launches NFT and DAO
Mid-range luxury brand Lacoste has launched an NFT project called "Undw3," which includes a new decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that will give token holders access to certain products. and voting rights for business partners.
There are 11,212 NFTs in total, a nod to the company’s popular polo shirt L1212, which went on sale yesterday for 0.08 ether (ETH), or about $96 each.
The NFT depicts an animated crocodile with its head sticking out of the water. These collectibles appear to be in high demand, as they have more than doubled in price on OpenSea and are currently at 0.193 ETH ($233).
Lacoste has yet to release full details of its roadmap, or NFT utility functions, but has confirmed that the DAO will enable users to participate in the "creative process" of a range of products and collaborations with Lacoste Underwater.
Holders will also gain access to unique customization features from the Lacoste clothing line, though it's unclear whether they'll cost money to purchase the product or will receive a certain amount of freebies.
Lacoste also hinted via Twitter that it might consider integrating the Metaverse as well, but noted that "we can't say much more than: get ready."
Trader earns 921 ETH through Bored Ape
While the floor price of Yuga Labs’ Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT project fell to about 86 ETH (less than $100,000) this week, investor BoredWEB3 bought Ape overnight for 1,024 ETH ($1.22 million) #7537.
This means that the seller DB1C00 made a huge profit of 921.12 ETH, which is about $914,000, because he originally bought this NFT on March 22 for 102.88 ETH (worth $305,553). Prior to this, the price of this NFT was only 40.99 ETH 8 months ago.

Bill Gates satirizes Boring Ape NFT
Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Bill Gates slammed the NFT project as "based on even more stupid theories."
He made the remarks Tuesday at the California Climate Conference hosted by TechCrunch. At the meeting, he noted that he was neither long nor short the industry as a whole, sarcastically saying:
"Clearly, an expensive digital sub-picture of monkeys would greatly improve the world."
Gates is a well-known cryptocurrency skeptic who has repeatedly slammed Bitcoin (BTC), most recently in February, warning investors that unless they have as much money as Elon Musk, they should Stay away from bitcoin.
“I’m bearish on bitcoin, my general thought is: If you have less money than Musk, you should probably be careful,” he said.
Colorado governor is raising money with NFT sale
Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a Democrat, has launched a 2022 NFT sale as part of a fundraising drive ahead of the Colorado gubernatorial election in November.
The NFT depicts Polis standing in front of a rainbow-coloured mountain, a pair of dangling sneakers, and his dog, Gia, a dog that shoots red lasers. Launched on June 13, the NFTs cost $52.80 each.
At the time of writing, 1,895 NFTs are still for sale, and if they were all sold, Polis would have raised roughly $118,893 from the fundraiser.
