McDonald's in Lugano, Switzerland, has commenced accepting Bitcoin as a legitimate mode of payment. This stride is realized through a collaboration between Plan ₿ Foundation and Go Crypto.
The Plan ₿ Foundation have previously already successfully integrated bitcoin payments into several businesses within Lugano, Switzerland.
By year-end, they project to serve a substantial customer base exceeding 2,500.
The strategic alliance between Plan ₿ and GoCrypto has paved the way for accessible bitcoin transactions across the entire city.
The Plan ₿ Foundation, an entity committed to promoting bitcoin and stablecoin usage, recently introduced the City of Lugano to the world of bitcoin and stablecoin transactions.
Established by individuals who played a pivotal role in launching Tether and in shaping the City of Lugano itself, the foundation aims to seamlessly infuse bitcoin into everyday life in the city.
Moreover, alongside introducing bitcoin payment alternatives, the foundation holds the ambitious goal of reshaping the city's financial framework.
To realize this citywide transformation, Plan ₿ partnered with GoCrypto, a specialist cryptocurrency payment solutions provider.
Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tether, noted:
"Earlier this year, Lugano and Tether signed a memorandum of understanding to launch a strategic collaboration through several initiatives, including to help local businesses integrate their existing payment services with the permitted stablecoins and Bitcoin."
Presently, GoCrypto-backed payments are accessible at nearly twelve merchants throughout Lugano, spanning businesses like McDonald's and galleries showcasing art.
