Circle addressed a public letter to Senator Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Chairman Sherrod Brown, D-OH, on Thursday, refuting claims of banking Justin Sun and financing Hamas.

Circle's Chief Strategy Officer, Dante Disparte, wrote a response letter to the Campaign for Accountability on November 9. The campaign alleged that Circle failed to prevent illicit financial activities.

No Accounts in Circle

In a November 30 letter, Circle said,

"Neither Mr. Sun nor any entity owned or controlled by Mr. Sun, including the TRON Foundation or Huobi Global, currently have accounts with Circle."

The letter continued,

"To date, the US government has not specifically designated Mr. Sun or his entities as Specially Designated Nationals. Nonetheless, Circle terminated all accounts held by Mr. Sun and his affiliated companies in February 2023."

Justin Sun Sued

The potential involvement of crypto organisations in financing terror groups has been a contentious issue, particularly following Hamas's attack on Israel. In March, the Securities and Exchange Commission sued Justin Sun for the unregistered offer and sale of two 'crypto asset securities'.
