Next Block Expo (NBX) is coming up in less than a month.
To find out more about their efforts to support charities and sustainability, we interview Dawid Kustra, CEO and co-founder of Next Block Expo.
Introduce yourself to our Coinlive readers – what is Next Block Expo and who are the folks behind them!
Hey everyone, I’m Dawid Kustra, CEO and Co-Founder of Next Block Expo (NBX).
Next Block Expo, otherwise known as NBX, is one of the biggest Web3 events in Europe, with a focus on blockchain technology.
We are currently number two in terms of the number of participants, but we have ambitions to become number one in Europe. I hope this will happen within the next two years.
The Blockchain Festival of Europe – that sounds pretty exciting. How is this festival different from a conventional crypto event?
First and foremost, what sets us apart is our extensive format.
NBX is not just a massive conference; we also offer spaces for workshops, organize a pitch arena for startups, and feature a vast expo with exhibitors.
We have also prepared a dedicated area for traders, allowing them to test their investment skills in the Trading Battle and potentially win €10,000.
NBX is primarily about friendly people who are shaping the world of Web3 and blockchain, creating an incredible festival atmosphere.
Next Block Expo has been channeling your efforts into charities and sustainability. Tell us more about what’s behind this decision.
NBX was born out of passion.
It wasn't created to profit from organizing this event, but rather to promote, educate, and strive to introduce new people to this incredible technology.
We want to share our success, which is why we increasingly support various charitable initiatives.
Give us some examples of what y’all have been doing in that regard!
There was quite a bit of it!
We funded a new, specialized wheelchair for a sick boy, which his parents would have not been able to afford.
We are delighted to see how it has improved his quality of life.
We also provide regular support to animal shelters.
Our chosen beneficiaries are the animals from the 'Na Paluchu' shelter in Warsaw, Poland.
How do y’all view the crypto space currently? It’s been an exciting week with Bitcoin recovering.
We are still at a very early stage.
Only one percent of the world's population has ever had physical contact with cryptocurrencies, and I can't wait for that number to increase to 3-4%.
That will be something incredible, and then it will develop very rapidly, and everyone will be using cryptocurrencies.
As for Bitcoin, there is no other path but an increase in its price.
Everyone wonders if it will be worth 1 million dollars, which is the wrong question.
The question should be WHEN will it be worth 1 million dollars?
Lastly, what do y’all hope to see in the space going forward, especially in the context of events and community.
I expect a significant popularization of technology.
It's no longer possible to stop this trend; all we can do is join it.
Regulators are aware of this as well, and I hope their attitude will change too.
Blockchain is the truth.
Tampering with and retroactively changing data is practically impossible.
Some institutions are hesitant to implement solutions based on this technology because it poses a threat to them, and they have various intentions.
People deserve honesty, and relationships with institutions should be transparent, honest and clear.
