Transaction Volume of Hamster Network Drops Drastically
Hamster Kombat’s Layer-2 blockchain, once surpassing Solana in transactions per second (TPS), is now facing a steep decline.
Just two weeks after launch, the Hamster Network’s transaction volume has plummeted by 99.9%, sparking concerns over its sustainability.
Initially designed as a gaming-focused blockchain for dApps within the “Hamsterverse,” the network peaked at 34,028 TPS in early March—3.5 times Solana’s throughput.
However, by 14 March, it had fallen to just 2.74 TPS, processing only 59,615 transactions in 24 hours, a stark contrast to its 150 million peak on launch day.
This dramatic drop raises pressing questions about its long-term viability.
Hamster Kombat Shows Significant Decline in User Engagement
Hamster Kombat's once-thriving user base is rapidly shrinking, mirroring the network’s broader decline.
The game, which boasted over 300 million monthly players, now struggles to retain engagement.
As of 26 February 2025, active users had dropped to 11.5 million, but within two weeks, that number fell further to 10.3 million—a loss of 1.2 million players.
New account creation has also stalled, with only 12 sign-ups, highlighting a sharp decline in interest.
Once a major player in the clicker or tap-to-earn gaming space, Hamster Kombat now faces mounting concerns over its long-term viability.
Is Hamster Kombat Destined for Doom or Will it Regain its Former Glory?
Industry analysts attribute Hamster Kombat’s early success to the hype surrounding its crypto airdrops rather than genuine engagement with its blockchain.
Like many play-to-earn and tap-to-earn games, it has struggled to retain players once incentives tapered off.
Despite this, the Hamster Kombat team maintains that the L2 network is still in its early stages and will undergo further stress tests to assess its full potential.
However, the sharp declines in transaction volume and player activity underscore the volatility of blockchain gaming.
Whether the team can reignite momentum—or if developers and gamers will find lasting value in the platform—remains uncertain.
