In a recent update, Jito Labs, the Solana ecological MEV infrastructure developer, shared insights into the distribution plan for its 100 million JTO airdrop. Notably, 80% of this allocation is designated for JitoSOL users.
Airdrop Breakdown:
1. Jito-Solana Validators: 15% Allocation
- Jito Labs earmarks 15 million JTO (10% of the total airdrop) for Jito-Solana validators, recognizing their role in supporting the Solana network.
2. Jito MEV Searchers: 5% Allocation
- A smaller portion, 5% or 500 thousand JTO, is allocated to Jito MEV searchers, acknowledging their contributions to the MEV infrastructure.
3. JitoSOL Users: 80% Allocation
- The lion's share of the airdrop, 80 million JTO, is reserved for JitoSOL users who held a minimum of 100 points before November 25, 2023.
Verification and Collection Process: Users are encouraged to verify their Solana wallet addresses for qualification. Upon the airdrop launch, they can initiate the JTO token collection process through the official website.
Exclusions from Airdrop:
Jito Labs explicitly states that previous and current core contributors are not eligible for the JTO airdrop. This exclusion encompasses core contributor wallets holding JitoSOL, validators operated by core contributors, and gold wires managed by core contributor Finch Searchers (note: core contributors abstain from MEV participation).
The JTO airdrop presents an opportunity for active JitoSOL users, validators, and MEV searchers to benefit from the distribution. However, it's crucial to note the exclusion of core contributors from this airdrop initiative.
While the airdrop brings potential rewards, the exclusion of core contributors may raise questions about the inclusivity of this distribution strategy.
