Job seekers on LinkedIn are set to benefit from a new AI-powered feature that helps them evaluate how well their skills align with job listings.
The "Job Match" tool, launched in January 2025, offers users instant feedback on job ads, showing how closely their qualifications match the requirements of each role.
Once a user views a job listing, the tool automatically reviews their profile and provides a summary of how their skills compare to the qualifications listed in the ad.
It also offers guidance on how to enhance their chances of securing an interview by suggesting improvements to their resumes, cover letters, and even recommending relevant courses to strengthen their qualifications.
Rohan Rajiv, Product Lead for Jobseeker and Jobs Marketplace AI at LinkedIn, explained that the tool goes beyond simple keyword matching.
He said,
“When you’re qualified, we’ll be able to help you, but also, when you’re not qualified, we can hopefully find you other places where you are qualified.”
For LinkedIn Premium subscribers, the tool offers more detailed insights, including a rating system that categorizes candidates as a high, medium, or low match for specific roles.
Premium users will also gain insights on how they compare to other applicants, helping them target the right job opportunities more effectively.
LinkedIn has also launched a separate AI recruitment agent aimed at helping smaller businesses streamline their hiring processes.
This new tool allows employers to create job postings, connect with suitable candidates, and review applications with ease using an intuitive point-and-click interface.
With 2.5 million small and medium-sized businesses already using LinkedIn for recruitment, this tool is designed to simplify the process, offering a synthetic version of recruitment teams typically found in larger organisations.
