In recent days, the zkSync incident has been fermenting online. I saw many Twitter users even directly put pressure on Xan and OK, hoping that the two exchanges would make a statement.
In addition, the zkSync Chinese community also publicly expressed its attitude, revealing helplessness and sadness in its tone, and said that more details and information of the whole process will be disclosed later------relatively speaking, I am looking forward to seeing the follow-up statements of this community.
From the overall development of the incident, the room for recovery is probably very limited. Therefore, for the majority of participants, it is more important to take appropriate measures and not make similar mistakes in other subsequent activities.
However, I still saw many Twitter users on Twitter saying: If you suffer heavy losses on zkSync, then give up your fantasy and go all out to fight for the next coin position------------After these experiences, they are still determined to adopt this "go all out" and "don't hesitate" approach, so I can only wish them good luck.
I started to consciously coin after Arbitrum.
At that time, my friends mentioned to me: Should we also form a team and open a bunch of accounts to do this specifically?
But because of my usual lazy personality, this thing did not take shape in the end. But this proposal also reminded me that it is still necessary to do this: on the one hand, it can make me familiar with the latest applications, and on the other hand, I can also grab some wool by the way.
So I decided to participate casually.
My overall situation is limited time, limited energy, and limited financial resources.
Based on this situation, the strategy I set for myself is:
Only cultivate three accounts, select major applications, focus on depositing funds, and occasionally participate in the interaction when I see new applications.
The so-called "cultivating three accounts" means:
I used three Argent X and three Little Fox accounts to participate in every well-known Ethereum second-layer extension after Arbitrum.
The so-called "selected major applications" means:
In each second-layer extension, I focus on only two types of projects: DeFi and NFT.
In DeFi, I focus on the top three DEXs and lending applications on each chain.
The so-called "focusing on depositing funds" means:
For each DEX, I mainly provide three types of liquidity, and rarely conduct token transactions:
The earliest one provided was the trading pair between WBTC and ETH;
Later, after a large number of ETH derivative assets appeared (such as stETH, ezETH,...), I replaced WBTC and ETH with trading pairs between ETH derivative assets and ETH (such as stETH-ETH, ezETH-ETH,...);
Finally, there are trading pairs between stablecoins and stablecoins (such as DAI-USDC).
I choose these trading pairs mainly to avoid impermanent loss.
For each lending application, my interaction frequency is not high, mainly providing two types of collateral assets: one is ETH derivative assets (such as stETH, ezETH, etc.) or ETH, and the other is stablecoins.
The so-called "occasionally seeing a new application to participate in the interaction" means: mainly participating in the new NFT.
These new NFTs are all new projects I saw on Twitter. In fact, 99% of these projects are meaningless, purely for the convenience of participants to collect wool projects. But their advantage is that the fees are extremely low, almost negligible.
This is how I participate in these Ethereum second-layer expansions.
However, during the participation process, I am too lazy to do the following two types of operations:
One type is to bind a personal Twitter account and Discord account. For this type of interaction, I am very lazy and really too lazy to operate a bunch of zombie accounts specifically for collecting wool.
The other type is personality proof, a typical example is Linea's POH. It's already in the crypto ecosystem, and you still do this kind of thing? It's so annoying. Since Linea launched this POH, I have been too lazy to participate in any interactions related to it, unless it is some particularly fun and interesting interactions.
In addition to the above operations, I did not follow the suggestions of many users on the Internet that there must be an interaction once a week, and that operations between different accounts must be separated by 24 hours to prevent being witches...
I just interacted casually when I saw or thought of it, and each time I interacted, I manually interacted with all three accounts at once, but I never used any scripts for automated operations.
The results of my operations are as follows:
Starknet airdrop, Argent X's three accounts were wiped out.
But what surprised me was that my Github account received a relatively generous reward. I guess it may be because I participated in the construction of several projects in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Looking back, participating in the construction of these projects was completely unintentional. I participated purely because of my interest and found it fun under the guidance of seniors in the circle. At that time, there was no such thing as airdrops in the crypto ecosystem, and even Uniswap had just been launched.
Although my wallet account was completely wiped out by the Starknet airdrop, I did not summarize any lessons learned and improve my anti-witch skills like many people on the Internet. I remained the same, doing what I did in the past.
During the zkSync airdrop, all three of my Little Fox accounts received airdrops, and the amount exceeded my expectations, but my Github account had nothing.
For the remaining few Ethereum Layer 2 extensions, my operations will not change, and the results will be completely left to fate. I will definitely not waste too many unnecessary resources and energy to do these.
As for the airdrops I received before, I will not sell them for the time being, and I will not withdraw the trading pairs and collateral assets left in those chains, but will continue to keep them in them, because these airdrops and assets may help get airdrops for future projects.
I hope my experiences can be of some help to everyone.
Finally, I would like to emphasize again: when doing these things, we should try to be less utilitarian and more curious and exploratory. God will give us luck. Even if we are unlucky this time, we will be lucky next time.
