Famous twitch streamer xQc just lost $700,000 after losing a heavy bet on Kamala winning the 2024 U.S presidential election.
xQc-real name Felix Lengyel-was sure that Harris would win the Presidential Election, hence he placed in a huge bet hoping to turn a big profit.
xQc made his bet on the popular betting site Stake.com, hoping to walk away with $1.6 million if Harris won.
He wrote his X account, saying
"THIS BETTER HIT LMFAO, THE ODDS WERE TOO GOOD I HAD TO. DON"T GET MAD....I CAN"T EVEN VOTE SINCE I'M CANADIAN"
At the time, given the predictions of a very close presidential race, xQc's idea didn't seem too foolish. But little did he know that his idea would backfire so badly as Trump started winning a string of key states like North Carolina, Georgia,and Pennsylvania xQc's chances of winning faded along with Harris's.
In his live stream, xQc could be seen checking the incoming results, before frantically switching tabs to his betting page and swiftly cashing out. But fortunately or unfortunately for him, he has already lost $700,000.
Fan reaction showing little sympathy for his loss
xQc's fans were glued to his stream, watching the drama unfold. Many fans were shocked that he would take such a huge gamble, with some even showing their concern that he might be risking too much cash.
Some of his fans even reacting to the clip on their social media, showing little sympathy to xQc and saying that he could have donated the money instead of wasting it on such a silly bet.
Another person commented that it was crazy to see people betting so much on political results.
However, the night was a successful payout for other streamers like Adin Ross, who managed to cash out on a small profit from the bet that she placed on Donald Trump.
This isn't the first time xQc made such a similar bet. He is well known for regularly streaming high-stakes gambling and talking about major events.
In a broadcast later, xQc addressed chatters that were mocking him, saying that he regularly loses massive amounts like this while gambling and arguing that it's not a big deal in his pocketbook. Which he commented
"Guys, I lose between like $350, $400k, to like a million a day, and you're gonna talk shit about $700k? Brother. Peanuts stuck in the f*cking sofa brother."
