A federal judge in Florida has ruled in favor of Kevin O'Leary in a defamation lawsuit against former cryptocurrency influencer Ben Armstrong, known online as 'BitBoy.' According to PANews, Armstrong has been ordered to pay $2.8 million in damages.
The case stems from a series of posts Armstrong made on the X platform in late March 2025. In these posts, Armstrong accused O'Leary, famously known as 'Mr. Wonderful' from the show Shark Tank, and his wife of being murderers. He alleged that they paid millions to cover up their involvement in a 2019 boating accident in Ontario, which resulted in two fatalities. O'Leary was a passenger on the boat and was never charged, while his wife was accused of negligent operation but was acquitted after a 13-day trial.
Armstrong's posts included O'Leary's private phone number and urged followers to 'call a real-life murderer.' This led to Armstrong's account being suspended for 12 hours on the platform.
