The Kremlin has announced that the timing and location for the next round of negotiations involving Russia, the United States, and Ukraine remain unclear. According to RTHK, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov indicated that due to the current situation in the Middle East, it is unlikely that the talks will be held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Despite escalating tensions in the Middle East, the progress of negotiations concerning Ukraine has not been affected.
Peskov also mentioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to have international phone conversations on Tuesday, with the Kremlin providing updates as necessary. However, a phone call between President Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump is not currently planned.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of negotiations and expressed support for continuing trilateral talks between Ukraine, the U.S., and Russia. Although the new round of talks was initially planned to take place in Abu Dhabi this week, the changing situation in the Middle East may lead to the negotiations being held in Turkey or Switzerland.
