Federal prosecutors have charged Jonathan Spalletta in connection with the alleged theft of approximately $53.3 million from Uranium Finance. According to NS3.AI, the charges also include allegations of laundering the stolen funds through Tornado Cash. The case originates from two smart contract exploits in 2021, one of which affected 26 liquidity pools and resulted in the shutdown of Uranium Finance. Spalletta could face a maximum sentence of 10 years for computer fraud and up to 20 years for money laundering.
