China's Ministry of Education, along with four other departments, has issued the 'AI + Education Action Plan.' According to ChainCatcher, the plan emphasizes enhancing teachers' proficiency and skills in artificial intelligence. It outlines the development of standards for teachers' AI literacy and the implementation of tiered training programs tailored to various job requirements, aiming for comprehensive coverage through diverse methods.
The plan also includes the creation of a contextual evaluation system and the development of intelligent, gradient-based assessment tools. Local schools are encouraged to conduct large-scale evaluations of teachers' skills, with the results used to improve their competencies.
Additionally, the plan advocates for reforming the training of education students by integrating cutting-edge technologies like AI into the curriculum. It proposes updating the knowledge framework and incorporating AI into teacher qualification exams and certifications. Furthermore, AI education projects will be established in national and provincial teaching achievement awards to foster innovation in AI.
