Mitsubishi UFJ has postponed its expectation for a rate hike by the Bank of Japan from April to June due to geopolitical uncertainties faced by central banks worldwide. According to Odaily, analysts from the company noted that the limited availability of hard economic data following increased tensions in the Middle East might lead the Bank of Japan to act cautiously. Despite this, Japan's inflation-adjusted interest rates remain at 'extremely low' levels, which could prompt Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda to indicate readiness for monetary tightening at next week's press conference to address potential inflation pressures.
