The automakers named include BYD, Tesla, XPeng, Li Auto, NIO, Seres, Zeekr, and GAC Aion.
Upon inquiry, BYD, Tesla, XPeng, Li Auto, and GAC Aion have denied these claims. A Tesla representative stated that the company has not been summoned by regulators over battery locking issues, and all software updates undergo rigorous testing and documentation. XPeng's legal department confirmed that the company has not received any such summons or been under investigation. Li Auto also refuted the claims, stating that the information is false and that they have not been summoned by regulators over battery locking issues. BYD issued a statement labeling the rumors of being summoned and investigated as false. GAC Aion also released a statement denying any involvement in the alleged regulatory discussions or investigations.
