Injective said a network upgrade completed yesterday took longer than expected, but the blockchain and INJ assets remained safe throughout. According to Odaily, the protocol and consensus mechanism were not breached, and users and staked funds were not affected.
The company said the issue stemmed from an exploit involving binary options markets in a small number of ecosystem applications, with the attack limited to those apps and not the Injective chain itself. During the upgrade, some validators were briefly suspended for failing to update on time, network staking temporarily declined, and some exchanges paused deposits and withdrawals while updating nodes.
Injective said the attack vector has now been fixed and that it will introduce stricter constraints, real-time monitoring, and additional security protections.
