According to Foresight News, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has responded to Andorra's request for assistance by providing technical advice on recording Bitcoin transactions. The Andorran Financial Management Authority (AFA) stated that banks in Andorra need prior approval to record Bitcoin and cryptocurrency transactions, but no banks have requested approval yet. The IMF recommends that the AFA supervise cryptocurrency transactions and positions by September 2024, allowing Andorra to use this information to compile macroeconomic statistics.
