According to Odaily, Steven Goldfeder, co-founder of OffChain Labs, recently disclosed that during the early stages of developing Arbitrum, the team nearly accepted funding from a major ecosystem other than Ethereum. Goldfeder shared that this funding could have provided substantial early financial support but might have diverted their focus and impacted their deployment plans on Ethereum.
Goldfeder elaborated that while the funding would have increased their bank deposits in 2019, he believes OffChain Labs and Arbitrum would not have evolved as they have today. He noted that it is not surprising other ecosystems offer larger grants because they provide less support compared to Ethereum, resulting in higher deployment costs that necessitate greater financial compensation.
