According to BlockBeats, an informal poll conducted on votedannyryan.com on January 30 showed overwhelming support for Danny Ryan to become the new leader of the Ethereum Foundation. Out of the participating addresses, 97% (325 addresses) voted in favor, while only 3% (10 addresses) opposed. The addresses supporting Ryan collectively hold 51,198 ETH, valued at approximately $164 million, whereas the opposing addresses hold just 8.85 ETH.
Danny Ryan, a former researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, has been instrumental in the development of Ethereum 2.0. He played a key role in significant upgrades, serving as the lead coordinator for Ethereum's The Merge upgrade and overseeing the launch of the Beacon Chain in 2021. Ryan has also been actively involved in updating Ethereum Improvement Proposals. In September 2024, Ryan announced his departure, concluding his seven-year contribution to the Ethereum ecosystem.
