Coinbase Partners Aston Martin in USDC Deal
On 12 February, Aston Martin Aramco’s AMR25 racing car roared to life for the first time, with its full reveal set for 18 February.
Notably, the car’s rear wing will feature the Coinbase logo, as the Formula One team has named Coinbase its Official Crypto Partner in a deal paid entirely in USDC, though financial terms remain undisclosed.
The AMR25 will display Coinbase branding on its halo and rear-wing end plate, while drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll will also sport the logo on their racing suits.
Coinbase marketing vice president Gary Sun expressed his excitement:
"This is a huge milestone for Coinbase...we are excited to embrace an industry that equally values pushing the boundaries with transformative ideas and technology."
A press release hints at potential fan engagement initiatives powered by Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2 network, stating:
"As part of the partnership, Aston Martin Aramco will explore bringing fan engagement opportunities onchain."
Coinbase Takes on Crypto.com in F1 Partnership Deals
Coinbase’s partnership with Aston Martin places it in direct competition with rival exchange Crypto.com, a longstanding Formula One partner since 2021.
Crypto.com recently extended its sponsorship through 2030, solidifying its status as one of F1’s longest-term partners.
The Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix will retain the exchange’s branding, with Crypto.com focusing on delivering exclusive fan experiences and activations across various Grand Prix events.
