The Dogecoin community has recently concluded its own version of the "Runestone" airdrop, drawing inspiration from the NFT-like giveaway conducted by Bitcoin Ordinals last month.
Doge Runestone Airdrop: Mimicking Success with 30,272 Distributed Doginals
Named "Doge Runestone," a total of 30,272 Doginals were distributed to wallets holding at least one Doginal from a specified list of collections outlined by Robo AI, the organizer of the airdrop.
Trading at a floor price of 185 Dogecoin (DOGE), equivalent to approximately $32, Doge Runestones have witnessed a 24-hour volume of just over $2,000, as per data from the Ordinals Wallet marketplace.

The airdrop mimicked the successful Runestone airdrop conducted by Bitcoin Ordinals in March, which distributed over 112,000 Runestones to early adopters of the protocol. Bitcoin Ordinals embed NFT-esque assets, such as images or documents, into satoshis, the smallest unit of Bitcoin.
Exploring Dogecoin's Ecosystem: Doginals, DRC-20 Tokens, and Unconventional NFTs
Dogecoin, being a fork of a fork of Bitcoin, has its own version of Ordinals known as Doginals, launched by an anonymous developer in February last year, shortly after Bitcoin Ordinals.
Additionally, the Doginals protocol paved the way for the introduction of the DRC-20 token standard in early May 2023, resembling Ethereum's ERC-20 standard and Bitcoin's BRC-20 standard.
With 149 Doginal collections and nearly 68,000 DRC-20 tokens collectively valued at $120 million, Doginal Explorer data showcases the protocol's diverse ecosystem.
Moreover, the Dogecoin blockchain has also immortalized the 1993 classic shooter game Doom as a Doginal, adding to the trend of running Doom on unconventional hardware such as washing machines and toothbrushes.

Despite the Doge Runestone airdrop, Dogecoin's price has not seen a significant positive impact, currently trading at $0.1718, experiencing a 2% decline in the past day and a 20% decrease over the week, according to Tradingview.
