Vitalik Buterin Makes Significant Moves in Crypto Market
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has recently attracted attention with a series of high-profile transactions in the cryptocurrency space.
According to data from blockchain tracking platform OnchainLens, Buterin minted 315,382 DAI, a widely used stablecoin, and sold off various meme tokens, accumulating a total of 71.69 ETH, which was valued at approximately $136,684 at the time.
Meme Token Sales Amount to 71 ETH
Buterin’s decision to sell several meme tokens has raised eyebrows among crypto enthusiasts.
The sales included significant amounts of popular tokens.
- $146.18 billion FML → 2.51 ETH
- $180.88 billion SHIB → 0.987 ETH
- $7.17 billion VB → 1.57 ETH
- $366.47 million AWESOME → 1.44 ETH
These moves suggest Buterin’s ongoing interaction with various sectors of the cryptocurrency market, beyond his Ethereum-focused efforts.
DHN Sale Sends Shockwaves Through Market
Earlier, Buterin sold 5,000 DHN tokens for 65.19 ETH, a transaction worth around $124,000 at the time.
This sale caused a dramatic 57% drop in the value of DHN, plunging the price from $38 to as low as $16.
Despite this significant price drop, Buterin still holds 5,000 DHN tokens, which are now valued at an estimated $113,000.
The dramatic decline in DHN’s value has sparked speculation about how Buterin’s market moves might influence broader sentiment and pricing in the crypto space.
Shifting Strategy or Routine Moves?
These actions have led to widespread discussions within the crypto community.
While the exact motivations behind Buterin’s recent transactions remain unclear, some speculate that he may be shifting his strategy, divesting from lower-cap assets, or preparing for a more significant move.
This is not the first time Buterin has sold off large airdrops or tokens received from various projects, adding a layer of mystery to his financial decisions.
